My flatmate is moving to Austria in August and so I'm looking to fill his spot in this beautiful cottage. I've been living here since September last year and everything has gone very smoothly. Communication with the landlord is fantastic and any issues we've had have always been resolved quickly. Separated by just a couple of years at primary school, I happen to know the landlord personally, as well as his family.
Located at the edge of Corstorphine Hill, one can enjoy beautiful views over the entirety of Edinburgh while relaxing in the peace and quiet of nature. Despite not being centrally located, the main road into the town is just a couple minutes walk away, providing easy access to buses and a cycle path that will take you there quickly. There is also a tram stop accessible within 10 minutes. There are a couple small shops (such as Co-op) in close proximity, and a few larger supermarkets either a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive away. A street parking spot will be available if you need one.
The cottage has a wonderful front and back garden with a pond and seating areas to enjoy the sun (when it comes out!), and are maintained by the landlord's mother (who lives just a few doors away). The interior is very homely yet modern with newly fitted double glazing windows and french doors that lead out to the back garden from the living room. The rooms of the cottage include a well equipped kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and a bathroom with personal sinks and cabinets, rainfall shower, and bath. The cellar, where you can find the washing machine and boiler (gas central heating), doubles up as a convenient place to store any bikes. Your room will include all major furnishings that can be seen in the pictures, with of course all my current flatmate’s personal belongings removed.
A bit about me (Tomasz): I’m 28 years old, from Edinburgh, and work as a software engineer. I love cooking, reading, learning languages, playing piano, cycling, climbing, going to yoga, hanging out with friends, and having interesting conversations with open-minded people about all sorts of things. I like to keep my home clean and tidy, and enjoy the quiet, especially during the night. I am very easy going and am happy to spend time chilling out with my flatmate, but I also enjoy my own space and happily respect others when they want the same. I don’t smoke and only drink occasionally. I don’t bring friends round to the home very often and never without letting my flatmate know in advance.
If you are interested and think that we might get on well, then don't hesitate to get in touch and I can answer any questions you might have! We can then setup a call to have a chat to see if we are a good match. I also have some more pictures and videos of the cottage I can send you if you would like to see them (spare room didn’t allow me to add more here).
