Due to our flatmate having to move out at the end of our current tenancy, one bedroom becomes available in our flat in Nine Elms!
The split-level flat consists of a big kitchen, storage room, and one bedroom (converted living room) on the entrance level (second floor of the building), as well as two bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower and a water closet, and an additional separate toilet on the upper level (third floor). The bedroom that becomes available is one of the upper floor ones and faces south-west. The bedroom gets a lot of natural light and is equipped with a double bed, chest of drawers, a built-in wardrobe and a desk. Our current flatmate is not using the desk and instead we put it in the storage room downstairs, so the desk can be removed if you don’t want it!
The flat is located in Nine Elms (SW8). It can be easily reached by both the Northern Line (Battersea Power Station 10 mins away), Victoria Line (Stockwell 15 mins away), or the Overground (less than 10 mins away). It is also about a 15 mins walk away from Battersea Park and has a big Sainsbury’s within a similar distance.
You would have two flatmates: Tanvi and Kuba. The atmosphere in the flat is pretty social. We like to hang out in the evenings in the kitchen, one of the bedrooms or a local pub. Occasionally, we also like to have some friends over for a small party.
Kuba (he/him), 25, is a PhD student at ICL. Originally from Poland, he moved to London two years ago after finishing his undergrad in New Zealand. He’s most likely to be found making soup in the kitchen, hiking in one of the national parks, or doing puzzle in his bedroom. You also won’t need to ask him twice to get a coffee or try a new restaurant with you!
Tanvi (she/her), 23, is a recent graduate in biodiversity conservation, she is currently working at an independent bookstore in the area while looking for a job in conservation. Originally from India, she moved to London about 2 years ago from Japan where she did her undergrad. She met Kuba while both of them were master’s students at Imperial. She likes to spend her time reading, going on walks or trying out new art projects (emphasis on trying!). She is also obsessed with Facebook Marketplace and would be happy to help you pick out any cool furniture for your new room.
We like to keep our flat clean and have a weekly cleaning rotation. We also split all communal expenses such as cleaning products etc.
We are renewing our current lease at the end of September, and were going to sign a new contract for 1.5 year, which means that the rent is not going to increase throughout this period. The rent for the available bedroom is going to be £860 and it does not include bills (per month):
Council tax (split between two) band C (Wandsworth)
WiFi: £9.62pp
Water: £13.33pp (approx.)
Gas and Electricity: £20pp (approx. higher in winter, lower in summer)
We are looking for another professional who is at a similar stage of life to ours, but don't want to impose any strict age limits. Please also note that this is a queer-friendly flat.
We are both away from London for the rest of June, so please forgive us if we take a longer time to get back to you! We are planning to schedule viewings for sometime at the beginning of July.
